Obama Supports Israel, Or So He Says.

This week while Obama was in Israel he had to achieve a near impossible mission he had to win over the trust of the Israeli people. While the liberal media is scrambling to find avoid reason why the President is first visiting Israel now in his second term, the Israeli public is questioning his loyalty to the Israeli-American alliance. Many Israelis don't trust him, with good right this is the same president that called for a return to the pre-1967 borders.  So now he thinks he can go to Israel give a speech off a TelePrompter, flash his deceptive 'trust me' smile, and expect Israelis to,fawn over him like some Americans do. As i watched President Obama land today in Israel, greeted by prime minister Netanyahu; it hit me. We are halfway through 2013. The 2014 midterms are almost here and Obama's purpose for going became clear. He needs to make sure that the American people think he cares about Israel. that is why he went to Israel he is trying to win congressional seats not hearts and minds. Obama has decided that in one week we the people will forget  all about his offensive comments on/about Israel, and believe that he truly supports Israel. So now I ask you do you believe?

Nanny Bloomberg is at it again!

NYC mayor Bloomberg has once again defended his title, nanny Bloomberg. Having lost the war on soda he turned his attention to cigarettes. As if the surgeons general warning was not a clear enough deterrent. The nanny of NYC has now decided that he believes out of sight truly is out of mind. He is now proposing a bill that would force retailers to keep the cigarettes out of sight. His reasoning is as the NY Times said is that , " such displays suggest that smoking is a normal activity and they invite young people to experiment with tobacco". Not only that but he wants to punish  the small business owners that make the city what it is. A second  bill nanny Bloomberg has proposed would raise penalties for retailers that evade tobacco taxes by selling smuggled  cigarettes and  prohibit them from redeeming coupons. It would also force the retailers to sell cigars and cigarrillos in packs of four minimum. Now we all mayor Bloomberg is not one for subtlety, so he had to add on more provision just to make sure we all know how bad cigarettes and little cigars are for us. That provision was to raise the price of a pack of cigarettes to 10.50. The first problem with nanny Bloomberg's proposed bills is that smokers are addicted addicts are not going to stop smoking. The second problem is that cigarettes are a destination item, a person goes out to buy a cigarette; they don't go out to buy a paper and suddenly decide to buy a pack of cigarettes. These bills com in the wake of his attempted sugar tax his successful  banning of cigarettes in just about every public place including bars parks  and beaches. Well nanny Bloomberg it's your last few months of your third term and you have managed to tarnish what was, going to be seen by most people as , a successful run as mayor.
